CSR

Lamont Pridmore is firmly rooted in Cumbria and we are committed to giving something back to the diverse communities we serve.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme features both support for the West Cumbria communities through the Lamont Pridmore Fund as well as a commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our firm has played an important role in the local economy supporting a number of local organisations and community groups.

We support several annual business awards events to recognise and celebrate some of the other fantastic businesses operating in Cumbria.

We also sponsor a series of business student of the year awards for high performing pupils in local schools to help nurture local talent.

The Lamont Pridmore Fund – Giving back to West Cumbria

The Lamont Pridmore Grassroots Fund is managed by Cumbria Community Foundation.

Since 2019, our Fund has awarded over £100,000 to grassroots projects addressing local needs from youth sports to mental-health services.

The Fund is available for projects supporting local people in Allerdale, particularly the Working area.

We encourage all good causes in the local area to consider applying to help us maximise the impact that you are having.

We focus on:

  • Education and Skills – Funding school resources, apprenticeships and employability programmes
  • Wellbeing and Inclusion – Supporting charities that tackle loneliness, addiction recovery and disability access
  • Community and Environment – Investing in habitat restoration, community gardens and public-space enhancements

Our Fund has supported projects which include:

  • Theatre workshops for schoolchildren in deprived areas
  • Coaching training for local trampoline club
  • Kit and equipment for a junior football club
  • Premises hire for youth club activities
  • Music workshops and master classes in schools

Grants will normally be less than £1,000 over one year, however, there is no minimum or maximum award amount.

If you know of a project that could qualify and benefit from a grant, further information can be found on the Cumbria Community Foundation website.

“The local communities of West Cumbria have played an important part in our history and so we are delighted to be giving back to young people, local clubs, and organisations.

We hope this funding will help open up new opportunities to the region’s young people, which will feed back into the communities in which they live.”

B1G1 Movement – Business for Good

We have joined the B1G1 Movement and are committed to becoming a Business for Good by creating a world full of giving.

B1G1 projects are broken down into small quantifiable impacts, so we’re trying to make a difference by linking some of our regular business activities to a micro-impact.  When combined, these micro-impacts create a real change in the world.

  • Every time we gain a new client we will supply 31 days of clean water in the world
  • Every time we send an invoice a tree will be planted in the world

Our Commitment to the UN Global Goals

We align our policies and practices with four key Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring our day-to-day operations contribute to:

  • Quality Education (SDG 4)
  • Decent Work & Economic Growth (SDG 8)
  • Responsible Consumption & Production (SDG 12)
  • Climate Action (SDG 13)

We know that we are but a small part of a larger global community and we take full responsibility for our place in that broader picture.

This is why we work to keep a focus on the UN directives and ensure that all of the work we do not only benefits our clients but also contributes to a better world for us all.

If you want to be part of our push to make a better world, then speak to our team today.
